Every year I plan a Game for Christmas Eve, this year I have no idea what to do.
We have about 20 - 26 people, pretty even on male and female so that is how I split up the 'teams'. Ages 12 - 85
I have picked up small boxes of Turtles for the 'prizes'.
We have done in the past:
Christmas Trivia
Christmas Pictionary - Christmas songs - Must sing answer
Christmas Charades
Etc.
Any Help would be Great!!!

Have you ever played White elephant? I think its called by other names as well. you buy a gift for as many people as you'll have, wrap up all the gifts. Usually we buy our gifts at the dollar store. The gaudier the better with a couple of nicer gifts in the pile. each person picks a number out of a bag. In numerical order each person picks a gift out of the pile one at a time. on every turn if a person does not like their gift they can exchange with any of the others who have a gift already. last person to exchange a gift is the person whose number was one since they didn't get a chance to excange gifts with anyone. And at the same time everyone walks away with a little something.
hope this helps.

Nancj,
thanks for the idea, but we are ready doing somethng like that.
What we have planned is everybody draws names for a $20ish gift
$10 for a gift for a game similar to the one you described & a $5 gift for when Grampa reads 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' we sit in a circle everyone starts with a gift and when he reads the word 'The' you past your gift to the left. When the story is over we open and exchange with others if we want to.

Here's a few:
- "Guess How Many M&M's Are In The Jar". Everyone writes down a number when they arrive, later in the night you do the big reveal, the closest gets the candy and jar.
- Taboo - the box game. Trying to beat the timer, you have to get your team to guess the word on your card without using any of the other "off-limits" words that are on the card. Go through as many cards you can before the timer runs out. One member of the other team has a buzzer and is watching you to make sure you don't use any "off-limits" words. We have a blast with this.
I like that idea of passing the gifts around, sort of like musical chairs but everyone wins! You could add a twist to the game that on the word "the", they pass left. On the word "a", they pass right.

We used to play a game with dice. If a person rolled an even number they got to choose a wrapped package out of the center of the group. If they rolled a double of any number they got to choose two. When all the gifts in the center are gone folks would get to choose from other peoples stacks. We'd always end it by making sure everyone had the same number of gifts.
All gag gifts. We bought a jar of pickled pigs feet and added it to the pile one year. LOL Everyone who's coming should bring at least 5 gag gifts. Usually less or around a $1 each.

Actually I have planned the same Jar Guess thing except with Pasticcios instead of M&M's.
Putrid I like that idea but I will have to hold on to it until next year.

What about pass the pine cone? You have 2 teams and they do a quick relay where they have to pass the pine cone down the line holding the pine cone between their chin and chest. ??
You could play guess the Christmas character. Print of several Christmas characters simple ones for kids or more difficult movie characters, like Clark Grizwald. The tape them to everyone's back. They have to go around and ask yes/no questions trying to figure out who they are. Give them 10 minutes to half an hour if it's a drinking event. Then have a little competition to see if they can guess their character. it's a great game to get people mingling.
There's always bingo, but that's a little boring ...
I'll try to think of some others and get back to you.

Wow, I just noticed this thread is really old. Maybe the OP could come back with ideas they used over the last 2 years :D

I am pretty much doing the Christmas Trivia. I have not thought up any other x-masy game yet.

Ah, improv. Sounds like a game my actors would love at Christmas!
