Here's a commissioned piece I'm currently working on...still lot's to do on this guy. He'll be very much like "Aloitious" as far as height, about 40" tall and will have poseable arms and fingers. Thanks for looking and I'll be posting a tutorial when he's completed.

I see a strange semblance between the elf and Sickie. Maybe that's a young Sickie? :)

Simply and utterly incredible. If/when I ever get my hand at sculpting, more thanlikely it will be fantasy characters. That way I wouldn't have to be as realistic as yours and havemine look BAD!

Thank you Sickie

Here he is with hair, finally!

PS, one of these times this year, I'd love for you to share with us a step by step tutorial of your method for making elf heads.

Thanks SI, the hair is the same faux fur that I used for Aloitious.

Here's another pic showing his body which is now ready for costuming. I used the usual pvc frame and made his shoes out of Celluclay and Sculpt-a-Mold. Of course those will be covered with proper pointed elf shoes.

Looking at your sculpt, I'm reminded of the old time statuettes in the dept store windows, when quality of work was shown in the style of figures. Occasionally an animated one would be there as well, but the incredible detail was there and made them a collectible today.

You, ma'am, are a true old world craftsperson, with that rare gift of presence. In the theatre we know it automatically as stage presence. With sculpting, I don't know what it's called, but you have that awesomeness. That spirit of living your craft.

As usual I am constantly more and more blown away by your work, until there's no more words to describe the shock of being blown away yet again.

You, ma'am, are awesome!

Can't wait to be blown away yet again with your next post in the series.

CC,
It is most amazing what you do. And I love the soft, subtle colors you chose for his facial highlights (cheeks, lips, etc). Makes him look so much more realistic.

CC your creations are so beautiful. How do you store them away so as not to get ruined. although if I were you I'd have them up all year round just to show off :)

I think the last one was stored under the Bride of F's dress if I remember correctly.

Thanks again you guys. I'm still working on his outfit and will post some pics soon. This elf was not promised to be completed this year, so no problem with the client. BTW, all my mache props are stored inside. I'm also putting together a how-to, but that does take some time and I'll get that posted as well.

And here he is all completed.
I made all of his clothing except for the striped tights. He also has a striped t-shirt underneath the jacket. I've also posted the 2 part tutorial.
