As Haunters we have two mega sites that have done an outstanding job collecting projects to share with the communities, each having close to 800+ projects on their site. As Deckers (Christmas prop builders) we have in the past been sadly missing this...until recently! :)
See, http://www.SantasProjects.com (often referred to as the SP site) has been created to hold a collection of all the How-To projects people would like to share with others. I've heard for so long that people had a tough time locating Christmas Projects for displays, that it only seemed natural to create a home base for people to finally find and browse and offer their own Christmas How-To's.
The SP site has been put together with the generosity and creativity from people from this site. The title graphic was drawn and supplied by our very own Rod Rego here at Christmas Fan Club. Now individuals all over the world are stopping by to see it! It is not the typical "This is my display" site, but a collection of links to YOUR sites consisting of Christmas Project How-To's!!!
Does it cost anything to post there? Nope. Nada. Free. Free to also browse and click on any links. Just click on the upper left button "Add your project here!" (In fact the money to run the site comes from my own pocket. Not yours!)
This type of site can only exist through the Christmas community, and we need many more projects posted! Everybody can help! At the moment, we have 80+ projects, and everyone would like to see YOUR Christmas How-To there as well!
We have categories for Animatronics, Blowmolds, Cards, Centerpieces, Dummies, Electronics, Food, Houses/Villages, Lighting, Make-up and Prosthetics, Ornaments, Pneumatics, Santa, Snowflakes, Snowmen, Soldiers, Stockings, Toys, Trees, and Wreaths.
Surely you have at least one project to write a How-To on, with a finished picture to show the world? Or maybe a better way to do a project posted?
Know of any conventions coming up?, other Christmas Lists?, Christmas related links? Vendors who specialize in Christmas? Go on and add them!
Also, feel free to place a link of SantasProjects.com on your own site. It does, after all, belong to all of YOU!
