Craft Shows are Starting!

Greetings Christmas Buffs,

The Muffster is staying busy as a bee my Dearies! Money has been getting a bit tight here at the Muffy Mansion so I decided I needed to do MORE!! HAHAHHA

I'm so behind for Halloween it ain't funny! The route has been slow going & we are not happy campers. Out west we did so good so this has been a little disappointing to say the least but no worries mates.....the show must go on!

So I always have backup plans!! Unfortunately my poor body w/ these health issues makes me drag my feet>>>>literly. The craft show .....shall we call it INDUSTRY is for the most part monopolized here by big production people that rent arenas to do massive craft shows. Cost are $400.00 - $800.00 for a booth!! Know how much candy I have to sell to make that money back? Plus you have to be juried to get on.

SO I went on Craigs List & found the small shows....$15.00 - $35.00 for a booth. More my price range! I sat down last week & got us into a show every weekend except Nov. 1st, the day after halloween. So yesterday was the 1st one. A small one but at least we got a chance to see what we had to do so we are polished for all the ones that are coming. We took the candy case...its a monster thats in a crate!

We had tons of candy & everything went smooth till we all got home last night. Ouchie, Ouchie, Ouchie!! & more Ouchie!! We carried 2 big 180qt. coolers in & 7 small ones full of stock boxes of candy that had to be transfered pc. by pc. into the trays that go into the case. Man took me forever. Gotta figure out someway to do this so its faster to get the case loaded. I will post a picture of the booth as soon as I have time.

BUT....the best part of the day.......a man leaned over the table & asked....."Are you Muffy?".....hahahhahahahahah...well guys on our NC haunters thread I posted I was gonna be at this craft show- car show in Concord & who showed up?!!!!! Mr. & Mrs. Spookineer!!! Oh man I was so happy to see them!! We had the nicest visit. They are finally moved in here & actually closer to me than we thought. What nice people they are!!

SO we talked about the upcoming party at my house & for sure we will get together in October. SO that was the highlight of the day!

Next show is the 27th at Latta Plantation a historical tourist place. They are sponsering a party for a new business opening that does physical therapy for horses so there will be a lot of horse people there & they are having jumpers which I love!

I hope it all goes well cause for that one we are outside!!EEEEEE!! The case is refrigerated but if it rains we are in serious trouble. I need to get one of those pop up tents!!

$400 to $800 a spot??? And I thought $95 to $120 was bad! I hope one of these times your able to get into one of those larger shows. Be great exposure for your stuff.

YUp you are right Putrid ....thinkin' about that right now which would be the best choice. They have a huge xmas show in Charlotte that is called the 12 days of Xmas. The booth is $1500.00, thats usually whats booths start at at the gift shows & candy shows. I'm going to attend that 12 days of xmas this year as a guest & then I'll decide. Have to make up my mind quickly as they start letting people sign up for booths right away.

WIth the building of the route going so slow we decided the craft show was the next gameplan, just take it to the public ourselves & get our name out there. We hand them a brochure & shove a small sample in their mouth & the experience is good enough to keep us in mind.

Sickie...what in the world was I thinking to not get a photo of all of us together? That is Jerry & Joe in that one photo. Next time for sure!! ANd you know me...I take pictures of everything!!lol

Muffy, that candy case is a monster, I can't imagine having to cart that around OMG! But the "filling" inside the case...just looking made my mouth water. I'm glad you're doing what you're doing, I'm sure its a ton of work, but so many people don't have a backup plan and its great to see you do this.:)

AAAhhh Thank You guys.....yea I'm the queen of backup plans!!lol That case is a pain in the you know what....we haul it around in the big crate it came in when I got it. Takes 30 minutes to unload it & get it out of the crate.

I been lining up more stuff so I'm actually busy as hell!lol Feels good! Well my feet are misbehaving something fierce! This Sat. we are at Latta Plantation a big tourist attraction that is hosting an event for the opening of a business that helps kids in trouble by letting them work with horses that need help. Should be a good turnout.

My feet been a wreak this week, had a major bad ass attack last night so I'm typing this just before I go to lay down, been up all night. These attacks are getting worse sure hope that tax check gets here soon so I can go to Baltimore.

Oh we landed a big account this week! Will be starting with them in November. Its a huge store. The largest gourmet & specialty products store in NC. Called Southern Seasons, really excited guys about this.

In other parts of our route people are closing down, this economy thing is getting pretty serious down here plus now the damn gas stations are either out of gas or putting a limit on how much you can get. Its pretty ridiculous.

Ok I'm rambling because I am so tired.......gonna go snooze for a bit. Carrie thanks for the note......look for a reply Sunday when I'm recovering from Sat.'s show! lol

Also found a xmas group Carrie like yours that has the meetings/ get togethers for teaching of how the lights work.......found it on Craigs List....I'll cut & paste it to see if any of those folks might be in you guys web site.

Total congrats on the big account!!!!!! Hope this opens more doors for you soon. When you say attack are you talking RLS?. Talk to your doc about using something to pump the arch of each foot down on for a few minuets. Please don't do that unless you get the go ahead. I'm still getting a few glitches on the PC. Not nearly as bad as it was but still some concern about stability and complex spread sheets and data bases. Will have to see how it goes. There's always that 9mm Luger back up plan. LOL

That's easy to figure out Spookineer. What doesn't have a space for gets turned into a Halloween prop. What does gets decorated for Christmas! LOL As a kid we moved all over the country. I know what ya'll are going threw and my hearts for ya. It takes a wile for a new place to really start to feel like home.
