What do you give or have you received as Christmas party favours? Does anyone do party favours anymore, except at kids parties? :cane:

I don't think I've been to a party where I got an actual favor. My kids have gotten them, and I've done the white elephant game, but no favors. I think (if I were to have my own party) that I might make up some peppermint bark and give it out in cute little containers.

When I was married we would have everyone over and they'd all get party favors. Always stuff we would make ourselves. I think the one that whent over the best was out cone Santas. I'll have to post a pic of them.

I love party favors & always give them to guests that come to my house for dinners or parties. They are usually made up of chocolates wrapped in little containers.

Tallula over on our halloween board, for her 2007 party she made fantastic little satin bags in red, black & white with cute draw strings and she made a styrofoam casket to lay them in. She must have had over 100 of them, it really looked like that much. I talked to her but forgot to ask her what she put in the bags. They sure looked cool. Also she did beautiful gift baskets for different prizes for the party.

When we had our diner on the holidays like easter, mothers day, valentines I always made 2 pc. truffle boxes that were gift wrapped people loved them!

Oh yes Muffy, I think I saw that thread, those were exceptional. I to would love to know what she put in them. I love party favors, we used to have hot tub theme parties on friday nights. One friday night (was hubbys b-day) I did a hawaiian theme, went all out on that one, but boy was it alot of fun. Even had the 8 ft palm trees on the deck. We gave the women lei's and grass skirts when they came in, and the men a floral shirt LOL a drink of course with the umbrella's in them and sent each couple home with tropical flower bag ( i made these) in each we had a bottle of wine, with a homemade label pasted over "waikiki wine" and an invitation to our next party. The total for that party was 1000.00

LOL Elvira. Pulling the head off of anything just to have it explode is kinda cool.

These start out as cardboard cones. The material covering the cones is cut to fit. Then cut in two pieces. The larger bottom piece is placed so the seam runs along the front so the fur trim hides it. The the hat has the seam running along the back so you don't see it when looking at the Santa. There only about 6 inches tall.

With two people working on them you can pop em out in no time. Takes the bread clay a few days to dry so you could have the body minus attaching the hair. ( gues syou could do the back of the 'head' first.) The hair takes the longest. Cotton balls ( small wads of cotton glued in place) can't be made ahead of time. Nor can the curly yarn. It's glued into place as is. However the long straight hair is combed yarn and can be done in batches ahead of time. Then glued on after you glue the face on. Arms are just fabric rolled around a bit of batting. Gloves are felt. Small plastic musical instrument, toy or one of those small gift boxes meant to go into centerpieces or flower orangements and your done.

Ok Kids.....Tallula sent me 2 pm's on these, heres a link from the one I got tonight that shows what was in the bag. All from Oriental trading post & I think the shot glasses were special printed for the party. If any of you need to see the photos of her favor bags & gift baskets let me know & I will find the links
