Well....that poor guy is still sitting on my tv stand holding his xmas tree! ( Remember the one I bought at Xmas that was marked down at Walmart?) I covered him with a large white plastic trash bag because I could not bear looking at his sad eyes any longer. He is sad cause he is not stashed away with his fellow xmas decorations.
I don't know what to do cause he's pure white with the material of a plush teddy bear. If he goes out in the garage for sure his white skin will look more like the body of a car that rides around in that wicked salt they put on streets in Chicago during snow storms>>>>>>got a visual Sickie??!!lol.
So he lives in the dining room cause there is simply no where else to put that poor guy! He is my year round reminder dude of Christmas!!
ANy suggestions from my fellow Xmas Fan Club pals as to what to do with this guy?
Muf
P.S. should mention that he is about 3 1/2 ft. tall & so is his xmas tree.

I'd say a few trash bags held together with duct tape might keep em clean. At least keep all the dust off the guy. Don't go easy on the duct tape. Dust will find any small opening.

Of course you can always do the large zip lock bags.

Yeah, the large ziplock bags would probably work best, if you can get one big enough, push the air out and zip shut-

Well I appreciate all these good ideas.....but I'm partial to duct tape. Over in the forum a comment was made about a UCLA study of menopausel women & their attraction to men during different times of the month. It stated that women my age get pure pleasure out of seeing a man w/ his mouth duct-taped and on a spear like VLAD put those guys & on fire.
I did admit that I could speak for menopausel women liking duct-taped dudes on fire and also admitted to buying 6 rolls of duct tape that very week!! SO the duct-tape suggestion wins!! And I'll have that coconut drink!

Now Putrid you may want to reconsider that Dearie!.......I do live right here in Lexington, NC & we are known as the BBQ capital of the world!!! Every October we have a huge festival to prove it!!lol
ALtho if ya come here we could do the "Que" thing at my house instead, see I lived out west where instead of smoked pork & BBQ sauce on your slaw........we do Baby Back Ribs smothered in Good ole tomatoe based sauce & absolutely no BBQ sauce on our slaw!!

Some friends and I Used to get together the first day of snow just to bar-b-q. Never had enough snow to make a snowman but the cooking was always good. Never had sauce in the slaw. It's great with brown sugar and unions in beans. Cooked till it's a paste.
NC the bbq capital???? Them be fighten words! JK LOL I don't know anybody who has less than three grills. I have 5. One gas, three wood or charcoal and one smoker. Oh and I also have an electric grill as well. It's small but it still counts. Never used it. Looks to be a real pain to clean. All it is is a grill with a HUGE heat element underneath. Not only do we all BBQ but the best places to eat in town serve BBQ. And I think I might have one of those George Forman things. But that don't count. Unless you set fire to it. LOL

Yeah I was pretty surprised to hear this news too....but its not NC....just the town of Lexington is the BBQ capital of the World...its big stuff here dude! 19 diners in town serve BBQ & its a competitve thing. When Jer 1st moved here we thought about opening a diner before getting the candy up & running but when we looked ata few places to lease one of the things thay tell you right up front is.......You can cook anything but BBQ.....seems ya gotta be a native from around here to stick to the tried & true ways to cook pork the way they do....honestly Putrid I ain't never seen anything like this that ya gotta be a local if ya cook BBQ in your business. Guess you would have to build a building fromthe ground up to do your own thing but then they would probably egg or tolietpaper ya!!
Yup we gots lots of grills too and smokers.....but we are die hard charcoal cookers no gas grills at this house!lol
I'll be honest I never seen BBQ sauce in coleslaw till I came here. In texas they eat ketchup on everything here they eat slaw & chili on everything!! I miss Chicago, my favorite is a combo sandwich from Al's on Taylor street,( charcoal grilled italian sausage, shaved scalas roast beef, sweet sauteed green peppers on a big ole chunk of italian bread dipped in au juice) maxwell street polish sausage, Chicago style hot dogs & Gyros. Here ya get 3 tiny shaved slices of gyro meat on a gyro in Chicago ya can chow on your gyro for 30 minutes eating meat before its ever small enough to pick up & stick in your mouth & eat it. Ah the joys of coming from a town of delicious foods!!

If I wasn't hungry before I am now. LOL Around here anything goes on a grill. Turkey, beef, pork, chicken, fish, pizza, sausage of any kind and any vedgi that'll hold up to the heat. Sauced, smoked or rubbed. The seasonings range from glorified catchup to elaborate homemade concoctions. Things et soaked in beer, wine, whisky and marinades from ever culture on earth. With cooking times from a matter of minuets to hours. And yes, even hot dogs and hamburgers. LOL Around here it doesn't matter where your from. It's all good. Stuck between KC and Saint Louis you never know what's going to be on the menu.

Well actually I would like to be more creative and have more of a flair. But...Jerry does most of the outdoor cookin here at the bunkhouse & he is a naturalist. His only flavorings are salt, pepper, & garlic salt. He made quite a name for himself in the Diner in Nebraska cookin the best ribs & steaks around so he has gotten to sticking with that. He believes its a sin to alter things with good beef...me...on the other hand I would like to experiment!!
I should mention also that he has cut meat as a butcher for approx. 40 yrs. so he has been around them meat markets and as you know they do quite a bit of different cuts and suggestions to women to cook them differently. Just before I came to NC Jer & I both worked for a grocery chain in their meat dept. I had never done work like that before & I really enjoyed it & learned a lot.

"Jerry does most of the outdoor cookin here at the bunkhouse & he is a naturalist"
He cools Naked???? Grease splatters would worry me. :p
Wish I were as good as y'all. I occasionally do hamburgers or hot dogs, but sometimes they don't come out very well. heh I fill propane for customers on my job, and there's some real die hards who will cool even in the dead of winter. And cool EVERY meal! Everything from main courses to deserts like apple pie!

Ooppss...by naturalists I mean a naturalists in his cooking of meat being natural meaning he does not put much on his meat!!!lol
I should have know to be careful with my words here>>>huh SIckie?lol
oh yes and we do BBQ in the winter...not to bad here in NC but Nebraska there would be snow on the ground.
On Sundays we always had a big special and sometimes it was ribs. Country style ones, the night beofre he would cook them on the grill outside for the flavor & then put them in big roasters on 250 degrees all nite. In the morining they would just fall off the bones & were delicious by the time we opened at 11:00.

Because he is white, I think I would put him in a blue bag and then duct tape it. Blue tends to keep them from discoloring (according to my cousin the white x-mas tree woman)

Muffy, is your snowman mounted on a nice piece of wood, wearing a red knit hat and scarf, with an orange stuffed felt carrot nose? I got mine at Dominicks. Mine is also still out on May 29th, sitting on a table in my family room and like you, I have no idea where I'm going to put him! Too funny, I think we may have twins that were separated at birth!

I had the same problem with my 5 ft santa's, but the really cool part, you push down on their shoulders and they shrink down to about 2 1/2 feet and then I can stuff them into garbage bags and duct tape the bags.

I knew he would bring a smile to all of your faces! Elvira, he's made out of that material like a big stuffed teddy bear is! His tree is like one of those old silver trees from the old days...aluminum. It came w/ attached ornaments too.
The reason I was afraid to stick him in the garage is because of the way things get shifted around in there. AT Walmart when I bought this guy, there was about 15 of them left....all of the tops of the trees were cracked off so I know its pretty fragile up there and we need to reinforce it.
I think Carrie has his twin at her house!!

OHHHHHH! I can see why he would be difficult to store, being made out of stuffed animal materials, I'm sure dust and such would stick to him like crazy! I remember my girls having big white teddys and over the years of just hanging out, they do discolor. How about sticking him in the coffin in the off seasons? :D
Mistress Muffy

He won't fit Elvira, his tree is attached to him so he's to wide!

The only other thing I could see, is a big refrigerator box modified to accomodate him, wrap him well and protect him with a box so he doesn't get squished. Short of building something I don't know what you can do. I would be so afraid he wouldn't be white in the years to come. He is gorgeous, and it would be a shame, unless you can take him to the dry cleaners. LOL

He is gorgous, Muffy, I would love to have him, I never saw them at my Walmart, on sale or other wise. I can see where the tree would be fragile, I guess what Elvira said, find a box big enough and wrap him careful, other wise, I don't know!!
