I am the newest member here..... Lets see a little about myself..

I am a 31 year old wife and mother.. I am absolutely addicted to a few things, in no particular order...

Christmas
Halloween
Geocaching
Starbucks
Chocolate
Photography
Travel

Lets see I have been decorating our house for Christmas for the past 7 years.. Each year it seems like I go way overboard and put up more and more lights.. 2007 I only placed about 3500 lights up, only because I spent so much time on Halloween decorations. 2006 I estimated right at 10,000 lights on my little house and 2 acre front yard.

2009 goal is to have everything down for Halloween by the 10th of November and the Xmas lights going up a few days after... I purchased 100 boxes of 150 strand lights after xmas and need to figure out where to put them...

Oh I didn't tell you that I put 2 christmas trees in my livingroom. 1 live tree on my front porch another artificial tree on my front porch. 1 small tree in my daughters room. 3 small trees on my kitchen table and another small tree on my fireplace mantle... Then i still have one tree left for you know just in case...

Umm did I say that I am addicted..... Let us not even go to me listing all my decorations for inside the house or outside... whew...

Well howdy and welcome to the forum Lacey38655. Your house sounds cool. Do you have a lot of landscaping ( evergreens, shrubs and the like ) to support the lights or are all these going on the house itself? Sounds like you and I both have a thing for trees. LOL

I do have one more question, what is Geocaching?

Geocaching is treasure hunting/ scavenger hunting with the use of GPS. There are caches (treasure) all over the world. Will write more later.. 5 pm my time, woo hooo time to head home..

"...would love to see pictures of your house all dressed up for Christmas!"

Hard part is putting the pants on the house.

:( I have no pictures of my past decorations due to 2 years ago we lost everything including our daughters photos from a bad hard drive on the computer... Again last year I was so burnt out on Halloween, I choose to do very little with christmas... Now this year is a different story, going all out. And there will be a lot of photos and video taken...

Geocaching for those interested is a GPS game. A geocacher creates a geocache (container with a logbook inside, may or may not hold trade items.) Takes the gps and gets a longitude and latitude reading. Goes to geocaching.com and uploads this information onto a webpage, where million of other geocachers are able to look at the information and then take those coordinates, enter them into his/her own GPS and go searching for the box... It is a lot of fun, we have gone to many interesting places. So far we have geocached in Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, and Georgia. This is a very family oriented sport, or you can do it alone. In Mississippi alone we have over 500 members.. So that just lets you know that we are a very large group.. Like here this hobby brings so many different type of people together to share one common passion... Kinda neat to have a junk yard dealer, a multi millionare and a college professor all going after the same geocache and hanging out for coffee afterwards...

OKOK back to christmas , lol, some things I am going to work on for the 2008 display.
Timer system
rearrange my lights
Wrap garland around my front porch
Actually buy some motion reindeer and hopefully do not hack it for the motor, for a halloween project
would like to purchase more chasing lights for the larger trees in my yard.
Get my hubby to brng home the fire dept ladder, so I can go higher into the trees.

(speaking of which, I still have a strand stuck in the tree from last year. )

Ok I am getting off here now. Whew...
