I had gone to the Winter Wonderfest at NavyPier in December and had been meaning to share some pics of the beautiful Santas from around the world that they had on display, But I can never figure how to download pics from my camera. I think I figured it out, It only took me three months. here is the link. I tried to rotate the pics so that they wouldn't be sideways but my computer was too slow.

Glad you enjoyed, this was actually my first year going there. It was a lot of fun, lots to see and do, and lots of inspiration. I want to try and make the rocking horse that is in the picture so I can put it by the tree this year. A much smaller one of course. Its definately a must see and do if your ever in the Chicagoland area.

Totally cool pics Nancj. Thank you for taking the shots in a way so you could still read most of the traditions. It's cool to learn how other cultures celebrate Christmas.

Bethene I'll make sure to take plenty of pics when I start, which will probably be soon after my sons baseball season.
Thank you Putrid, Thats what I like most about them was being able to read about other traditions from around the world.
My fav was the one from China, That evening I bought a bag of oranges to eat that night when I got home.

Lacey, the santas sound so nice, I would love something like that, and as a gift from your grandma, that makes it extra special!

Lacey was it something your grandma collected over time or was it a complete set when she purchased it? it sounds very nice.

Nancj thank you so much for posting these great photos, I set that one with the rocking horse as a wallpaper on one of my computers cause I want to try and make that barrel of lolly pops. I have mentioned on this board that we are working every season toward making our house a huge gingerbread house for xmas.
I am going to tell my Aunt in Chicago to find out about that doing at Navy Pier, I get home sometimes to attend the big NCA candy convention there. I would love to come to that Winter Wonderland thing, it looks great.

It was the first time I went last year, and we had a lot of fun. Its definatley for young kids bc I think there was over 10 infatables moon walk and obstacle courses. but they also had a large ice skating rink which I haven't done in years, and a few amusment rides. But just to see the decorations alone was worth going. It trully was a winter wonderland. They also had a 15 or 20 foot high rocking horse you could ride on, this thing was huge. I'm hoping to have enough time this year to build one of my own in a much smaller scale of course to put by the tree this year. I want to try and go with a toy land theme this year for Christmas. we'll see... But definatley Muffy, if your in Chicago during that time definately go and see it, your mind will start spinning with ideas.

Wow, don't know how I missed this thread, but this stuff is great! Thanks so much for sharing this, Nancj! I love seeing how other parts of the world do things, so this was neat -- and fantastic decor too! Thanks again!
