Getting things together for Holidaycraftology.com (nope, still nothing to show for all this time. LOL) . Got years of ideas and notes to decipher. Some of this stuff from the mid 90's. Almost all of it is stuff I came up with without instructions. How-tos half written and the other half drawn. Some just drawn without any explanations. Some explanations are real vague. I think at the time I thought I'd remember. LOL Five notebooks with stuff scattered throughout. A few small boxes of half made projects and one 3 ring binder stuffed full of patterns and templates. Going through all of this it suddenly dawned on me that throughout all these years I've continually sketched out one idea. And to this day have never tried making it. I even drew it out this year. LOL The project? An Angel in flight blowing a horn. Guess I'll have to break down and try making one. Possibly out of paper or paper mache over a paper mache body. It'll be one of those projects I'll do last. Gota stop making new stuff so I can devote time to remaking all the old.
I have a older book on wood carving. In it an artist talks about what he charged to make multiple copies of the same carving. He said something like this.
"$10 for the first one. $20 each for the next 10. And $50 a piece for the remainder of the 50 carvings."
When asked why he said.
"Cuz the first one is fun."
I tend to agree. LOL

Actually he made a real good living at this. Probably why he could get away with a stunt like that. LOL They paid him what he wanted for the carvings. Then he turns around and writes a book about it. Makes more money. #$%&@ capitalists. JK LOL

But isn't that what we all aspire to? Making a living doing something we would do for free.

Putrid you sound like me and my notebooks folders notepads ,disks, and cd's with tons of stuff in them only i can understand LOL...I have drawings on pieces of paper about 2in x 3 inch too- whateveris available at the time.
not only do i do sketches of things i want to make I then cut them out and totally cover tape them to a dif paper in my notebook. I also sketch out how i am going to set up my displays each yr too..
I too someday may get them all together but i don't count on that happening soon.

I have notes with pictures and things scribbled on them, ideas I saw some wher thinking I could make them, or something, plans for lots of things, from years ago, pages ripped out of magazines, all in a pile. I always think I am going to organize them, or use them, once in a while I get inspired and take them out and look at them, but usually I just keep them in a drawer, they will probably end up staying there until I am to senile to know what they are!

LMAO! Nice to meet people like me. Now try making a web site out if it all. LOL It's kinda fun going threw all this old half made stuff. I'm constantly saying, "how and when did I do this and why didn't I finish it?" LOL

In preparation for moving, I've been finding all kinds of started or half done projects as well as notebooks full of ideas and drawings for projects. My problem is trying to remember what the rest of the plan was... such is life here in Geezerville.

You have no idea how nice it is to hear I'm not the only person with half made, barley started or pieces of 'mystery' projects. LOL
Xmaslilly, plenty of odd drawing as well. LOL
In one note book I have plans drawn and written out for,
Angel No. 1
Angel No. 3
Angel No. 4.
I have no clue to what happened or where, if any, the plans are for the yet unfound Angel No. 2 are. These plans are over 10 years old. I'm sure at one time I knew. LOL

Now that's a possibility Xmaslilly. I found a few more notebooks hidden away in some boxes a couple of days ago. I haven't looked threw then yet. It could have been an easy one to make using a combination of techniques from the other three. If so there might be a half done number 2 around here somewhere. Just haven't found it yet. All three of these Angels are made using wide crinkle paper. The only ones I have that are complete are the no. 1's like in the pic below

The other two were probably thought out after Christmas one year. The only examples I have of them are half done and unpainted.
