I didn't think Christmas stuff would still be on the shelves. I did manage to come across Christmas curtains. They were reg $20.00 a panel, blowing out at 5.00 a panel. I bought enough panels to do the livingroom and diningroom next yr.
Does anyone else change their curtains for Christmas, or am I totally losing it? :o
Time to come up with some tie backs to compliment my new curtains. Hmmm... maybe some tassels and bows.

Totally cool find Elvira! I keep the same curtains up. Kinda got that burgundy and blue/green color going all year. Nope, your not loosing it Elvira, insanity is like gaining a whole new reality! LOL Besides if you lost it choosing curtains then I should be in a straight jacket for picking a paint color for the living room that looked good with the color of my artificial Christmas tree.

LOL Elvira, and white fur trim too! And if you can't get a hat then a nice red mouth piece will do. LOL
Not quite a match, more of a harmony. Wanted something dark that wouldn't take away from the evergreen color. The paint is actually darker than what the pics show. I chose to have a slight gloss to the walls to help brighten it up. Works but the camera flash washes the real color out because of it.

Absolutely! No straight jacket is complete without the fur trim. ;)
You green paint actually looks very soft and subtle. I would love to see the true color. Looks very nice with all your decorations. Extremely festive. Your tree is so nice and fat, every tree I have bought is never a fat one. I pull it out of the box, and end up so disappointed. Is it real or artifical?

I have too many windows with built in drapes for that. But I think it is a great idea!

Elvira, the real color is a shade or two darker than the pics. The tree is artificial. I had one with cat damage, (he liked to climb and sit in the tree.made himself a nice home. LOL) I removed and rebent the branches and made a new center pole with wider spacing between the branches and rows. That's why you can see the window through it. I have two of those 6 ft slender "apartment" trees. One I bought after Christmas some years ago and one I picked up at an auction for .50 centse. Slender trees are good for setting up in a corner or tight spaces. Bummer about your tree being to thin. Might be a good idea to look for a good fat one early in the season next year. You might have to spend a bit more for one but it's worth it if your happier with the way it looks. Try Sears or places like that.
So, you gona show us pictures of your new curtains? Be totally cool to see them.
Mummy deer-est, built in drapes? Would you have to break the window to close them? JK LOL

Oh I think that is a great idea. Years ago in my 20's I bought 2 sets of Montgomery Wards Finest drapes in RED!! for my bedroom. I changed colors & never hung them. Well all these years I drug them around & finally decided to send them to the Salvation Army store...But they never made their way there. I knew they would be the perfect drapes for my living room for Halloween for this funeral parlor plan. Also the other set would work for the Vampire Parlor in my dining room. I thought then if I decorate my house inside as a gingerbread house these drapes could just stay up thru Xmas. Cost a lot to have them cleaned and such.
Well then I would need to have some curtains to match in my kitchen so yes I thought about that too...been looking at those Dorothy's Original ruffled curtains with the big bows!! So yes ELvira I say "Bring on the Pictures" so we can see. And ya know what? Deanna know as Ghostess on our Halloween board...she has pictures in her web site of her bedroom for Halloween, she changes the whole thing curtains & all!

Wow, that sure is a nice tree for being artificial. I guess like the old saying "they don't make things like they used to" applies to christmas trees. I do however, like the idea of pre-lit and hinges, but I'll take a fat tree over that anyday. Thank you, I will check sears, they always have nice stuff, maybe I'll get lucky and find that chubby tree on sale.
Awww, a naughty kitty. He must have loved all the shiney ornaments and things to play with. Kittys have such a unique personality, he had to have kept ya smiling, even if some branches were bent!
hehehe I could show the curtains, but unfortunately not while they are hung up. Still in the package, as I bought them just a few days ago, and I think if I start ripping down my curtains now, and put up christmas ones, DH would be looking for a straight jacket for sure. I gaurantee you, it wouldn't be a christmas print one. LOL He would definitely go for the soild white!

I think we should just fed ex you to my house! :D A funeral parlor and vampire parlor? Thats so so awesome! Now I can't wait for Halloween, just so I can see your parlors. Are you the same ID on the Halloween Forum? I'll need to keep track of the "woman with the red drapes"
Funny you mentioned gingerbread, my daughter just sucked me into all new decoartions for the tree, and it happens to be gingerbread and gingham print stockings and skirt. Country look I guess. Thats our theme next yr. I would love to see the curtains you have your eye on for your gingerbread look.
Thank you for recommending Ghostess to me, I'll have to check her pics out.
OH! Before I forget Muff.... I have an appointment with the shrink tomorrow, I think you need to come along! ;)

I know that Candy Cane changes her curtains for Halloween, she has ones with little bats all over them. So no, I don't think you are losing it, but rather "getting it".

Pre-lit???? I talk to WAY to many folks during after Christmas sales. They're buying lots of lights to put on the pre lit trees that have stopped lighting. Hinges are a life saver. The folks that came up with the pre hinged Christmas trees should of gotten the Nobel for the hours of frustration they've saved us all!!!
Curtains still in the package? I don't mind looking through plastic....hint hint....LOL

I've been lucky with my pre-lit, all the lights still work even after a few yrs of squishing it back into the box. I imagine its just a matter of time before they burn out, or get broken, BUT on the bright side of that (pardon the pun) I will have a excuse to buy yet another tree! :D I agree, hinged trees are the best!
I had an old plug the color coded wire in the wooden stick tree yrs ago, and DH and I decided to twist it up into a giant wreath for our garage. That turned out well. One way to recycle the old stuff.
I managed to pull one arm out of the straight jacket and use the camera to get a pic of the curtains for you. I even pulled it out of the package!!! :p

Thank you Sickie, I'm sure there is alot more prettier ones out there, but the price was right. I couldn't resist. I needed 8 panels, and it only cost about 40 bucks. Reg price I wouldn't even have considered them.

Oh Elvira I like those!!! They are gonna really make your rooms like nice!
You are too funny about visiting the shrink together...I mean who really understands our obsessions w/ Xmas & Halloween or just decorating like we do. Thats why
we all hang out here...birds of a feather stick together! We all understand and appreciate each other!
I tried really hard to pull off the funeral & vampire parlor this year. Heck I got most of the stuff but just could not get it all done....which is what keeps me motivated right now. I have to get going so I'll be ready for Halloween!! I keep saying that in my sleep so I don't forget!lol
Oh yes, yes, yes...thats what I would love is gingham curtains with white lace on them & huge bows for tiebacks! Gingham & gingerbread...I think they go hand in hand! Dorothy's
has some curtains made up already (she does mostly custom work) that you can buy but I found a gal in Ebay that has more varieties for sale and I could not believe it but her business in right here in Lexington where I live. Many a time I have drove past her place. Gonna check it out!
Oh Yes & on the Halloween Forum I am "Muffy"

you're most welcome, hopefully I actually use them! I just remembered, yrs ago I actually bought fabric and made curtains for the diningroom. Now to find them! When I do, I'll post them in the trade section of the forum for a freebie maybe someone can use them for something.
