I'm thinking of adding "credit card" hot glue sticks to my line. This would be the rubbery stuff that peels off. I think this would be great for holding things on a temporary basis where you don't WANT something adhered permanently all year long.

Is this of interest to anyone?

Pro's? Con's?

I try to get input from people before adding anything more to my lines.

I think it is a good idea for crafters, Sickie -- I know that scrapbookers (I dabble) use repositional glue a lot. I was going to say that I couldn't think of anything to use it for otherwise -- but I was wrong! I've just come up with a couple ideas! how strong do think it is? Like, could it help hold up garland? Do you think it would damage painted walls?

I'm not sure exactly how strong it would be, Mum. I'm thinking it may hold props up for Christmas and Halloween and then be able to be taken down and peeled off. So far I'v efound it in brick form, but still on the search for sticks.

Well, I e-mailed my source and found out that the reason this product is not offered in stick form is because it is too soft. It is, however, offered in a small form that could be melted in a melt pot or small crock.

I'm thinking I could offer this at around $4 per half pound. I am waiting for my source to reply onhow much weight this may hold.

Hey Ickie I have a few pounds of the stuff if anyone comes up with some bright ideas on how to use it I'd love the info. We were using it for encasing fake organs but besides that it sits in my supply boxes.:(

Does this stuff harden up or stay soft?
How much pliable time does it have between melting and hardening if it does?
will it stay maelted on a warmer or does it have to be a stay on stove top heat?
could be what I'm looking for instead of using all my glue sticks.
I need to make a stained glass look thinga majig for someone and will be using hot glue instead of glass.

ps sickie I havent forgotten about that skull how to just havent done it yet..
this stuff may work for that too.

Lil, this stuff stays soft and does not harden. Kinda like soft chewed gum without the sticky stretch. If you've ever gotten the junk credit cards in the mail, they come on the paper that you peel off from the card.

Softens at 182 deg F, and suggested melting point for dispensing is 300-350 deg F

It's supposed to be pressure sensitive. Dispense a glob, and even "dried" something can be pressed into it later and it will hold it. Ie. paper, credit card, ???

I'm thinking it may be a neat product to have for crafts, but I'm not sure what to use it for yet. Maybe holding up cardboard cut out decorations? Styrofoam pieces? whatever it would hold, would have to be lightweight methinks.

I'm open to ideas from anyone... ?

Okay guys, I got some credit card hot glue in. I can offer it at an introductory price of $4 per 1/2 lb. They come in pillow form, so you'll need a small glue pot to melt them. I think Michael's has the pots for around $7...less if you have a 20% off coupon. heh

Anyone else interested in being a pioneer crafter?

Sickie I was just going to make a tower of easter eggs for the kids for easter but I wanted them to be able to pull them apart easily to get to the treats. this would be perfect. It'll hold the eggs in place and easily come apart. count me in for two orders.

Not what you're looking for? No prob Lilly. :D See, they are too soft to be put into stick form.

Off the subject, I'm still excited to see what people can do with these!

Ha Ha.. no I was hoping they were in sheet form for a dif project I want to do for a friend...
lets say you took one order and melted it all up, what size square would you think it would fill maybe 1/4 inch thick?
maybe this will change my mind ??

wow. good question. Each pillow is roughly 1" wide by a little over 1" length. Add to that a little less than about 1/2" tall? If you were to get a lb, there's roughly 60 squares...

I'm guessing very roughly 8" x 8" square at 1/4" thick per lb.
