So here are some pics of my decorations -- I swear it looks better in person than it does on film. And it isn't that much, but here it is for you all anyway...
I've got to start out with my beauties. You can tell they are pale from being sick...the reason not as much got done this year. And the extra space didn't help either. And the money...can you tell I have a lot of excuses? :)

Not a great pic, but here is the tree...

Here is the mantle. I cut the greens from my yard, but they looked better when they were fresh - at least two weeks prior to this pic. And that was my first attempt to make a wreath. Next year I'll add two smaller greenery wreaths where the screws are and decorate with more ribbon.

Next post is more....

A tradition I forgot to tell you all about -- the Chrissies. Every year we collect a stuffed animal and date it. The ones just out of frame on the left date back to my husbands grandma in the 50's, then it moves on to my MIL, and out of frame on the opposite corner of the room are the ones we have collected. (And I'm just now remembering that the couch beneath is the new one I forgot to show you all!)

The foyer. That is our mitten tree that is adorned with our very first angel - made out of coffee filters! And my mom made the reindeer and santa when I was a kid. (Made her put a red nose on the lead reindeer -duh, mom!) And the Santa and Mrs on the shelf below were my grandmothers.

A close up the the santa and his lady. You cant see it to well, but here sack (in front) and his (on his back) are hollow and filled with little mini presents and (and the doll) that my grandma made. I just love these two.

And one more random shot! You can see my card holder, the trift store find stocking, the chrissies in the back room, and the sofa! Along with our snowflakes -- I'll make more of those next year to put on the windows above the chrissies.

Well, not too shabby for our first Christmas in this bigger space -- but don't you worry, as the years go by, I will get to the same "almost overdecorated" state that some of you have so gloriously achieved! (And that is a good thing -- I love it!)

Absolutely wonderful collection of pics! The best thing in all those pics are your own kids, of course. :D

What A precious picture of the girls! They look so cute in their matching dresses!
I think your tree was just beautiful. Its so nice to have so many home made items in your xmas collection and the collection on the window sill is amazing. If those are all the way back from the 50's that is really a neat collection to have.
I like those hand cut snowflakes too!
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us!

Thanks guys! You make me feel better about falling down on the job!
About the chrissies (chris-ees)....there are about 6 of them from the late 50's/early 60's. Then a gap for the seventies, then it picks up, one for every year from about 78 to current, with duplicates (MIL's and ours) for 1999 to 2005. It is really cool that I have such a great place, ready made, to display them. Really made my MIL and her mom very happy.
I have to admit, I dress my girls in matching clothes for every special occation, if they let me! It is much harded to do these days with the 5 year old, turning to a 15 year old, and the little one insists on always wearing dresses -- I think she likes the breeze! :)

It definitely looks like christmas at your house. Your 2 precious angels most certainly complete the pic of the tree.

Totally cool pics Mummy deer-est! It doesn't matter how much you have it's what it means to have it that counts. And if you every get to the point were you have to much it's the stuff that matters that will still find a place to be seen.

Looks Great!
I wish we had a fire place up stairs we have one in the basement/game room......
I agree theres certain things that matter the most i take few things that mean most then a whole bunch of off the shelf stuff. Stuff that is given as a gift or homemade have a meaning...Just about every decoration on our tree is like that b/c of years and the stories behind them.

lol Sickie!
Thanks again for the compliments guys and gals!
I'm with you on the tree decorations, Frosty -- ours all have a story. For a anniversay, baby, childhood, special gifts, handmade, passed down....so not very themed, but still very important to us. Maybe next year we will get a second tree so that it can be more themed, while the original can stay the special ornament tree.
