Blinks. I like your artistry. :D
The white is only on the belly, as far as I know, not the neck or chin.

Thanks Sickie for your Valued Input, some times it hard to decide what kind of penguin the toy people use I couldn't figure it out. so I looked up a bunch of the little guys and this is what I found.

As I'm looking at it it looks like my angle is from underneath and it's mouth is slightly open. Hope that's what you were shooting for. Looks great!
Blinky
01-05-2008, 04:40 PM
Putrid, yes that was what I was trying to do. I want him as a belly flop penguin like he is sliding down a ramp or across the snow. Thanks I wasn't sure about the eyes tho?
Sickie Ickie
01-05-2008, 04:56 PM
I think the eyes look cartoony- wonderful!
Blinky
01-05-2008, 06:57 PM
Sickie thanks Now all I have to do is when I cut Him out of plywood is to build up his back side and have his legs sticking out and maybe a tail. Thanks guys.

Blinky
01-05-2008, 07:48 PM
I was so worried that know one would be able to tell what it was,lol
I 'm going to cut a piece of plywood and build it up to make his butt. with his feet sticking out.of the pile of snow. and his flipper up in the air. Dane calls it his Penguin lol I probly will never get it back

Looks great, Blinky.
As far as real vs. cartoon penguins, real ones do have white on neck
Pics of real penguins (http://www.siec.k12.in.us/~west/proj/penguins/slide3.html) while cartoon penguins (think Chilly Willy (http://www.chillywillyfan.com/) ) normally have a white face.

Thanks Hoghunter for your Help feel free to use it if you want to
Hey how do you cook chill?
I think the guy who drew chilly crossed a puffin and a penguin to make him?

Thank you Bethene here is a sneak peek at the ones I do have done. I can't draw worth a Hoot. That is why I sculpt. His arms are not right down on the plywood there is a space under his flipper so I can put a candy cane or something in his hands.

here is the 2nd one that I'm still working on: it will wave
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l50/Blinky_12/penguins/penguinsgingerbreadman034.jpg
Larry and Moe and Curly (will be the belly flopper) to come yet.
and Shep is going to be a Puffin:

Here is a drawing of my Puffin;.. here is a pic of a real one

I think Puffins are so cute. Puffins have bright orange beaks with a yellow stripe
and white faced. Black and white body and bright orange feet webbed like a duck. They live up towards Maine.

well here is another Shep hope you all like him:
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l50/Blinky_12/penguins/penguinsgingerbreadman.jpg
to put his feet on after you cut him out of plywood and have his feet cut out cut a square hole in the back center with a jigsaw and tap his feet on using glue to hold in place. or if you make it a tight fit you can just leave it so you can take them back off for easy storage.
leg bottom and foot are bright orange

01-08-2008, 12:44 PM
too cute Blinky. how are you planning to set these up?
And if I'm not mistaken I think that you can have a penguin as a pet if you live on one of the islands of Japan. just in case you ever move there.
Blinky
01-08-2008, 01:03 PM
Thanks Sickie but you should see how much of the eraser I have left, lol
Penguins and puffin are easy to draw you just need a big circle or 2
and a large eraser
ps: I plan to attach a "u" shape bracket or 2 to the back and use rebar in the ground the same way we do tombstones?
The flying puffin is a "belly Slider" for the ramp of ice, lol Thanks Mummy (())
I'm sorry I thought I had said that somewhere in the thread. I also I'm going to make one sitting down on his bumms with his feet up in the air sliding.with his wings out.

the puiffins are about a 1' tall and the penguins are about 2' tall but if you print them out you can take them to kinkos and have them blown up to the size you need.
Now that I have Samatha's yard taken care of I can start to do mine, lol
Ginger bread house and men and girls. I like Nancj avator I think I will make one like that and name it nanc

My Hubby is Jack The Ripper on some forums , He doesn't blog much or say a whole lot he is shy. But he looks like Gene Hackman with a beard.. he got named that so peeps know he is around some times. I talk in the chat rooms on the different forums and he is on his computer doing his thing ( Little Green Footballs ) but he makes comments to the guys and I post them.
