Will work on plastic, wont work on glass.

I sat down at the kitchen table, gabbed a silver plastic ornament and a permenent magic marker and made magic! This, at the moment, seems to stay on the plastic. I've tried wiping it off with a dry paper towel. No color on the towel. Tried soap and water with a white dish rag and had no loss of color.

Some things I've learned.

Work in small areas and try to get a good one coat finish. If you go back over or hit an already dry spot it dissolves and leaves blotchy spots or streaks. If you hit one color with another quickly wipe it off. You can also blend colors this way as long as one of the inks is still wet. If you accidentally 'paint' into an area you don't want that color and it dries there. Use the color you intend to make that area and 'paint' over the mistake. Quickly wipe it off with a paper towel wile the top coat is wet. You might need to clean your pen end by wiping the extra color off on a piece of paper.

Yellow doesn't make a good gold. Just looks yellow. Brown looks like dark copper. Your color choices will depend on the color pens you use. I don't think washable pens would be a good idea. The first time you wipe off your creation may be the last time you see it.

As I make even more discoveries ya'll will be the first to know.

Putrid, you should get those paint markers that they sell at craft stores. I keep a double-ended gold/silver one with my christmas wrapping stuff. It works well on paper, metal, glass, and wood...probably other stuff too, but those are the onlly ones Iv'e tried.

I wonder if those would be too opaque?

It is opaque, but it would look good on silver b/c they are very shimmery. (Is that a word?!) Otherwise known as iridescent?
