Discovery No. ONE.
I like to experiment with chemicals. LOL

To strip chipped and scratched up color off of plain glass balls use rubbing alcohol. Be a real good idea to ware rubber gloves. To put it bluntly, lead base chemicals mess with your sex life. If your not sure the ornament is lead free don't take the chance. Wear protection.

Soak a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and start rubbing it into the finish. Keep moving the towel around to find clean spots as the color comes off. Clean now silver ball with mild soap and water. Do your best not to get water inside the ball. This might cause spotting. You will end up with a silver ball preped for painting.

As I make discoveries I'll post them, Ya'll will be the first to know.

LMAO!!! Didn't know any other way of warning folks about the dangers of lead poisoning and the effects it has on adults. Hopefully that post will work. Protection has always worked for me.
