Happy new year all, hope every one has a great day. We've got snow here, did have a warning, but they updated it , so now farther south of us. It has been a lazy day so far. Hubby is sleeping on the couch. I'm eaither reading or on here, have to get the tree down but haven't been to motivated so far.I actually love my tree up, get sad when the tree gets down, and everyone turns the outdoor lights off, is so dismal then. so-- here's a toast to the new year(with my coffee cup) may every one have a safe, healthy, prosperous year, may the blessing and love of God be with all of us, may we all make the world a better place, just by being in it!!

Yeah, I hear ya Sickie! It has snowed here too, it is supposed to be 40 over the week end, we'll see, they could just be toying with us! Got the lights off the tree, now have to drag it to the curb. Then vaccum - the worst part. But I still have to get a real tree, so better not whine about the clean up! Have a great day all!! Off to work, no more days off for holiday for a long time, sigh.

Tree's down and packed, decorations packed and put away. All that's left is to take the outside lights down and finish up the last of the Christmas laundry (tableclothes, dish towels etc) and the last of the new years dishes and get the tree packed away in the shed. Hate to say it but I'm glad it's over. I never get the post Christmas blues but for some reason I did this year. The boys and I have our 6 month dental appts tomorrow then it's back to school for them on Monday. I'll finally get to relax and settle into winter.

Brightest Blessings to you all

Congrats on the late present, Sickie. ;)

I think your "bump" is exciting enough, Rose :D

Hope your blues give way to comfort and joy, Clarice.

Spook! How's the trip?!
Get us anything yet? ;)

I got some clearance stuff at Michaels today -- the really big fake wreath for a few bucks and ribbon and battery opperated mini's to put in my other wreath. And lots more fake garland to trip the garage with next year! Now if only I could find some good deals on lights!

The trip was good but too long. I can only relax for so long, then I need to BUILD something! We got home Wednesday night so we missed all the day-after sales...bummer. Sounds like you did well, maybe I'll venture out to see if anything is left, but after the storm lets up. We're getting heavy rain and 60mph winds.

you should deffinitly still go out, Spook...maybe less out there, but then again, what is left may be reduced even more.
I'm glad you got to relax some...and now you can get back to "bid-ness"!

Hey Spookineer hope everything and everyone is safe at your place. We only lost 3 sections of fence yesterday and the power was out for about 3 hours. The worst was no cable, phone and internet for 24 hours. No, I take that back, the worst part was 3 boys with no power for 3 hours, lol. There are several folks around us who lost trees, large branches etc. but luckily no homes or lives lost.
I hope the rest of our California and other West Coast families are safe and doing well.

Sorry for your damage, Clarice. You californians sure do get the short end of the stick sometimes.

Aw, wish Marylad had a Hobby Lobby! I looked at their map and looks like the closet to me is more than 4 hours away! Oh well, helps keep the money in the wallet!

I really can't complain. Here in the valley we don't get severe weather all that often, and where we're at we escape most of the winter flooding. It does get awfully darn hot in the summer though. I can't wait til hubby retires and we can move closer to the coast. 'Course that's at least 14 years from now.
Any hoo... I haven't even had a chance to get to Michael's, probably not much left by now. I did get some garland for next years tree at Target and a ton of candy at Target and Walgreens.

Sorry to hear about your fence Clarice. We've lost our share of fencing over the years, but none from this storm so far. (probably the 3" steel pipe I used to replace the fenceposts last time helped) About all that's happened here is the lights flickered a couple of times. Very unusual for Suisun, this is where the "Delta breeze" begins. Hope you stay dry, but we sure do need this rain and snow.

Hello everyone. I still have nothing to report. Except that we painted the baby's room but ran out of paint before we could do the second coat, dag nabit.

Rose - running out of paint is nothing, just wait til you have to put together a crib or other piece of furniture with horrible intructions!

Took down our tree last night, and I'm going to upload some pics to share soon. Not that there is much worthwhile, but I like to share and see others just because!

I second what bethene says!

I had plans of making a bunch of cranberry and mini marshmallow garlands, but it just didn't happen. Those darn things are sticky and a pain!

Sickie Ickie
01-08-2008, 08:21 AM
The "family thing" is going on today. I'll keep ya posted in the surgery section. heh We ought to have a category just for people sick. :(

Sticky garland, eh? I wonder if you could spray them with something to keep the stickiness from being tacky. A matt acrylic spray perhaps?

Mummy deer-est
01-08-2008, 08:41 AM
I'm so sorry, Sickie, that you guys are in the thick of it. Still praying for you.

About the garland -- the problem is that as you put on the marshmallows, the string gets sticky and gets marshmallow goo on it. I was thinking that maybe if I opened the bag and let them harden up a bit first, the insides might also not be so gooey?

Sickie Ickie
01-08-2008, 09:04 AM
The insides stay gooiest the longest because the outside gets hard and make a "seal."

Greetings all My Fellow Haunters!!...opppsss sorry I keep forgetting where I am!!

Glad to see everyone....Sorry to hear of your news there Sickie, lots to be going thru with that type of operation.

Boy you guys up there in California are really getting it, it reminded of my years living in Colorado and driving thru Wyoming on my job. White outs & winds that simply blew your car right off the road!

I just wanted to drop in for a sec.....I know as soon as I get time I will be here forever reading all the entries so I can catch up with whats been going on. I just got home this morning from an overnight stay for a sleep apena study looks like my new kissing partner is gonna be that big contraption over my face. Gonna put a sign on my bedroom door that reads...."Aliens Room". I mean thats how ya look at night with that hose sticking straight out of your face! Yup I'm going to be bringing one of those home. I was so bad last night they woke me up & stuck one on my face for the rest of the stay!

I been pretty sick since the 17th so we (us & the Doc) are going to see if we can figure some things out. I got all the pictures shot of my Xmas decorations to share with everybody just not finished getting them all on the pc yet. Started taking down decorations & the phone has been ringing with Valentine orders for the accts. We spent a couple of days in the field & came home with some nice orders. Time now to make another big batch of sample bags & get out and find more accts.. Also spent 3 days at the pc getting this candy site ready to open. So I been busy as a bee!!

Take Care!
Muffy

Good morning girls and boys.
Well, today I must first clean up the monumental mess we made yesterday - think: toilet paper in shreds on the floor, food everywhere, and a toy on every single possible surface. Yuck.
Then after that, I must start the other monumental task of organizing all the christmas stuff. I keep putting that one off, but we are have guests over for my dh's grandmothers 85(?) birthday this weekend. So....hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go....
bleh.

hello all, hope all is well with every one. I had a bazaaar week, had a attack of vertigo, due to fluid in my inner ear from allergies, still get dizzy but not like last Tuesday. I have a ceiling fan in my bed room, it was spinning merrily away, while turned off. Not cool. And what happens to people when sea sick- sick being the key word, also happens when there is a sloshing "sea" in your head. Oh well, I survived, am taking meds, hope they work, had one of those nasel sprays since mid December, which obviously didn't work, well have a great week end all!!!

That is totally not fun, bethene...we have some serious allergies in my house - I've had the same problems. Actually, my mom had a dizzy spell today too, and I'm wondering if it wasn't from allergies now that you said that....hmmmmm.
Hope you start feeling well soon.

Thanks mummy, I am doing a little better, the continues allergy pills and decongestants are slowly working- I think it takes a while to completely work, but definately better!!
