I Hope Everyone had a Great Christmas... I spent the Morning with my Oldest Daughter Diane and Her Family . My Granddaughter Samantha's B-day is tomorrow.. So She told me to today after seeing everyones house all done up. For Christmas on t.v. that she wants a big B-Day party next year and wants to do props ..So I'm trying to compile a list of props that a 11 yr old could make with just a little help from Nana Blinky.. I want her to be able to build most of the props.. so if any of you have ideas I would like to hear them..

1st on the list is a 10' tall Pvc tree..I think she should be able to do that ok..:D
I know that basic of this if any of you have made any Please let me know..1-10"long pvc pipe painted green and some lights but the part at the top where you secure the lights is the how to part I need. Thanks ahead of time Blinky
Thought I would check on those yard bowling pins to that stand about 4' high and do them as penguins..and some flood lights and if I can fit it in the budget a L.O.R. Thanks Everyone !!!

For the 10 foot tree get a coupler of that size pipe and get a bunch of hooks drill holes all around the coupler then attach hooks to the pvc coupler. Hook the wire to the hooks and ther ya go :)

or you could just cut notches in the end of the pvc and wedge the end of the string of lights in that groove.

You don't have to have the coupler really i only suggested that because it is much easier to wrestle a little 2 inch coupler then it is to wrestle a 10 foot piece of pvc just makes things much easier :)

you could also decorate suckers. Cut circles out of foam board or use styrofoam circles, and paint the swirls. Then push in dowel rods. :)

before you start trying to cut foam in circles hang on because im working on a hot knife design to cut perfect circles. :)

Thank you Frosty for all your Help I understand about the coupler, lol
That is easier than fighting with the whole pole.
Sickie I thought of that Micheal's sell ready made cut circles. and was maybe thinking of a fake Gingerbread house front and make suckers and M&M's and gingerbeard man and the foam wreath could be lifesavers we will see. Thanks again Guys

Dude! I'm all ears! :)

Im making a prototype and you will hold the handle in one hand and just guide "spin" the foam with the other hand and get a perfect circle BUT what i need to know for the proto is what size circles? Its not adustable at the moment but it will be as soon as i find some 1/2 OD plastic pipe.

Oh Blinky I hope you do that....thats what we are working toward...making the outside of the house into a gingerbread house since we are candy makers. We have only a few pieces of candy made & some candy canes (you'll see them in my outdoor xmas album as soon as I post my pictures) that we put up but hopefully this year I can find more time to make more stuff. I bought all the patterns from winfield but we ran out of time. I really had hoped we would get to the 7foot nutcrackers this season....but Jer just got so tied up building that cemetery for halloween we just didn't get anything else done.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with !

MM Samantha picked the penguin theme for her yard so if I have time this coming year I would still like to do a gingerbread house at my home.. I was thinking of converting a large cardbroad box into the house so i can store the candy props inside afterward..we will see.
but check out My Ginny on the forum called nonec the gingerbread man

Frosty, why not use a turn table to turn the foam while the cutter cuts it? The arm may be able to go in and out thus reducing or enlarging the size of the circles?
