Pictures of my living room.

The kitchen is open to the living room. But because I'm still working on a 3 week project of refinishing the cabinets that's lasted for 4 months now you won't see eny pics of it. LOL

are you stuck in the 70's??

LMAO Mr. Chrsitmas. I don't know, I guess. I always pictured the 70's full of macromade, knitted and cross stitched decorations. And plenty of flocked cardboard and plastic. Unfortunately I haven't collected much form the 70's. Most of the older stuff in the room is early 1900's to 40's, 50's and 60's. So if you mean in the 70's they used all that older stuff I guess your right! LOL

LOL you caught me Halloween handed Mummy Deer-est. There's also an 18 inch skeleton but you can't see em from these shots. These are plastic. One of these days I'm hoping to get a hand full of the early 1900's German scary ornaments. Skulls, ghosts, witches, mean old people and the like. Way out of my price range for now.

Great for a halloween tree. :)

I love the garland over the doorways and such! Also the florest wire works great for holding up the tree and looking good!

The florist wire works better than the stand right now. It's the only thing keeping the tree form hitting the floor. Maybe next year I'll just put a heavy duty hook in the ceiling and suspend the tree. LOL Hook it to a FCG rig and have the thing floating up and down sideways in the window. Bet that'll stop some cars.

???? I didn't see anything bad about it. And besides, I am a bit old fashioned. It comes with the territory of being a bit old. LOL

Nice christmas site you have there Putrid. Checked out all your projects and photos!

Thanks for the compliment MistletoeMeeple. Glad you liked the site. Working on a bigger site that will have both the Christmas and Halloween stuff on it. Be a few months before it's all up and running.

Thanks Xmaslilly, if I had more evergreen garland and put up a few more of the trees I have I could make my own Sherwood forest. LOL A few pieces of Halloween stuff on a tree is an older tradition than what we celebrate as Halloween. Germans were using scary ornaments years ago. There was a huge glass owl tree topper from Germany a few years back on Ebay. WAY out of my price range.

I couldn't agree with you more. Can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep on that recliner. LOL

Thanks for the compliments folks. Hope to see ya'll pictures soon.

I love the 70s! Putrid - I love your decorations! I have some the same santa dolls that you have!! I prefer decorations from the 50's - 70's and I have quite a collection of santas and elves. Your pictures made me smile - thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks again folks. It's the 18th and I'm still taking it all down. Always more fun to put up. LOL

CandyCane, absolutely right about the ornaments. If you still see green you still have room for more! Used to folks over but not anymore.

Sickie Ickie, wonder how you'd decorate for Ground Hogs Day. If you put up shadows would that mean your a sadistic..... LOL

Thanks Noel for the comp. Totally cool we have some of the same stuff. The one Santa next to the feather tree is battery operated. Unfortunately they no longer make the size it needs. He's the only one I have the original box for.

Never say never Putrid! Have a pic of what size battery you need? I love a good natured challenge! :D

No pics. AA and AAA are to long. Needs something called a 'pin light'. I have several older Christmas gadgets that call for these. Without the right batteries I couldn't tell ya weather the Santa worked or not.

I did a quick search and I think what you are talking about are AAAA batteries (or pen light batteries).

They are smaller than AA and AAA. (In fact you'd find them inside 9 volt batteries.)

Thay are about 42.5 mm long and 8.3 mm in diameter.

Is this what you are looking for?

Checked out your link Sickie Ickie. Don't think there that small. So I did some measuring of the cavities for both batteries and then the AAs I have. Boy do I feel like a real dumb A. They fit. Doesn't work on AA's. Don't know if AAAs would make a difference but I guess I could try just to find out. Thank you very much for doing a search for me. Was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Totally cool dude!
