So I read on the HF that some stores were already putting up clearance signs, and I couldn't believe it. On a trip out tonight to Target to get a gift and a string of outdoor lights, I found it was true!!!
Hardly any of thier trees were left, all lighting props were on sale, and the amount of lights they had were ridiculous. I got the last strand of outdoor white mini lights.
I am not sure that they will have anything left after Christmas! Are all Christmas clearances going on right now?!? Christmas isn't even here yet!

I love his penguins. I saw something similar when our toddler visited Santa. Their ice was about 2-3 feet wide with full sized figures. Great minds think alike. :)

Hog Hunter I Love your Pengie's
so Please dont get mad at me when I ask this:
what if after the Holiday's you take them apart and paint the bottom of the plex-i-glass with light blue and white kind of sponge it in dabs. so it looks like ice but snow patches and you would be able to hide the cross bars by painting them? and still have your lights under it to shine through ,I was thinking of doing this to the one I make. and the top would still be smooth and shiney like ice. Just a Idea!

Blinky - that is a pretty good idea on the penguins on ice (don't know why you would think I would get mad). Painting the bottom would help hide the crossbars - but the crossbars are still solid and you would see them as they crossed over the lights underneath. I was thinking of using thicker plexiglass cut into strips as the crossbars - then the paint idea would really be good to help hide the slight difference in a single piece of plexi versus when the single piece and plexi-crossbar pass the lights.
I still think setting up a character in the middle that is connected to the motor so it spins is the best way to hide everything. Then just connect another 1 or two characters (in a row) to each hand so you have 3 or 5 going around. Then no crossbars and the ice doesn't move. Either way - this whole thing is spinning off into so many other projects - this motor setup could be one of those playground spin around rides, a carosel, the main rotor of a helicopter. Gotta go buy some more deer if anyone still has them.
Next year's project - Reindeer Flight School.
