I was in Wal-greens and They have a set of plastic bowling pins for $10.00 just thought I would let you know . For those that want to make the penguins things . They would work well and are light weight.all tho they are different color plastic I think with a plastic primer coat they should work fine.:) They were about 6" high

Not sure which bowling pins these are, but check the type of plastic - some are made with hard plastic that will break if you are trying to cut it (as in splinter). Some are softer plastic - which can easily be cut.
If you are just painting to turn pins into penguins, then it doesn't matter.
Also, empty 2 liter soda bottles can be used for Empire penguins (just use the bowling ball from the set of pins for the head!).

Sickie - sorry, no pics since I haven't actually made but one practice one (2-liter soda bottle) which got chopped up to become a cover over my electrical extensions (since I don't have any control over the sprinklers in my yard). But I do have 2 sets of bowling pins which may one day become penguins. That and the 2-liter type were my original thoughts for the 'skating' penguin bodies.
Merry Christmas to all!

They sell them off. Look for them on e-bay. You can sometimes buy 10 for around $1-3 apiece. :)
