View Full Version : Won the local homeowners decorating contest...

AGAIN! Well we won the first 4 years we were in our house and last year we went to Hawaii in late November. I never could find the energy to decorate more than just a few lights so I figured fine, someone would have a chance to do something special and take 1st. However, no one did anything extra special last year which kind of made me think...well if they aren't going to step up I'm coming back this year bigger than before. Now I'm a small fish in a little pond when it comes to decorations in a neighborhood compared to a lot of homes around town which are way beyond anything I'd have time for considering how much we do for Halloween, but I do kind of feel like Jordan after winning some rings, I took some time off only to come back to win some more! He he!
I know, I know banging my own drum...but it sure sounds nice!

WAHOOO!! Congrats!! Should we start calling you Clark W. Griswald? :D It's a really terrific feeling plugging in your lights the first time and dimming all the rest of the houses on the block :D Good job!

There isnt really any contest in our subdivision ...Out of the 60-70 houses in the 4 block area, abt half have lights, abt half of those are good layouts, half of those (6 or 7) are really nice! I'm the only one with lights timed to music ("basic" GE light/music kit). It's only a 6 channel kit and good to start with.. looks and sounds nice, but it only beats those who didnt put up any lights :)

A really well lit house display is beautiful and yours definately IS!

Totally congrats DUDE!!! Way to go MrDEC25! And as far as comptition goes hang in there. There just planning and waiting for there moment. LOL Years ago I was the only one in town doing a halloween yard display. Now there all over the place. It just takes one to start something and I'm proud to know who's starting it in your area!
