I went to my thrift shop this week and scored! I don't go for gifts, but I do search for decorations and wrapping stuff. I got:

1 christmas basket
a set of felt napkin rings that I'll use at decoration instead
chunky lime green yard for wrapping
A TON of candy cane and snowflake ribbon
a really nice long skinny stocking
5 metal wreath forms...will use with clippings from back yard and a card holder
an ornament
a jingle bell necklace for my daughter
a paper christmas tree table centerpiece craft.

All for $2.75!!
I will totally be going back next week to see if I get some more goodies!
Do I have any fellow scavengers out there?

Lately, I go and pick up the hair dressing Barbies. I have plans for animating the heads for both Halloween and Christmas. :)

But, yes- I'm a regular at the thrift stores.

I do alot of shopping at thrift stores. It is amazing what you can find there. My daughter has declared a boycott of buying most new things, only used from thrift stores, all her clothes come from there, and she finds me things all the time, it is amazing the quality she finds, she is a very shrewd shopper, lucky too if you ask me. I now have 3 cashmere sweaters I never would have if not for the thrift store. actually for my birthday she go me a whole bag of clothes from the different thrift stores, 2 beautiful jackets, shirts, sweaters, too much to name, all name brand, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, DKNY, to name a few.I have had people stop me to tell me how much they love one of the jackets. I go for Clothes, Christmas things, and OF COURSE-- to look for halloween finds!

Pretty cool the bargains you can get there for prop use. Somethig you would never spend full price on suddenly becomes viable to hack if reduced price. :)

Here is a card holder I made using my thrift store finds (the wire wreath form, and ribbon), some wire I already had, and the cards I got this year! It is more filled out now, with a more circular shape b/c I've gotten more cards. I think for next year I will add a little more to it, like a jingle bell hanging down from the middle, just for added cuteness.

And here is a wreath my mom made for me -- using cards that she has saved up over many many years, so that they could all have a similar theme. It is blurry, but it is just glued onto a straw wreath, and has a few added embelishments like scrapbooking extras.

Oh Mummy those are too cute. I also like to save cards that I've been given and use them for scarpbooking or to make other cards with them, great way to recycle!

Well, talked to my mom, and she thought I might not be there, seeing as we have had a lot going on. So she seemed like she might have been a bit annoied yesterday, but didn't care anymore. But I still feel bad b/c she said there wasn't too many people there this year.
*Digging around, looking for those old cards...*

ewwwww!

I could probably use mags, but the cardstock will be heavier and hold up better, plus I have A LOT of cards to choose from.
