Christmas story lamp shade

My hubby just purchased the lamp from the christmas Story and the shade had a very small tear on the bottom near the fringe. when I e-mailed the fine people at the christmasstorystore.com they said that they would send me a replacement right away and to just toss the other one away. Well being that it is such a beautiful shade I don't have the heart to toss it away and I dont need two, so knowing that a few people here have talked about making a leg lamp if anyone is interested you can have it. you'll only have to pay for the shipping. just let me know.
