View Full Version : Syncronizing timers or another solution?

We do the icicle light thing on three sides of our house, line both sides of the driveway and walk, a couple trees, etc...

Anyway, I use timers to turn on sections depending on the outlet they are plugged into (to distribute the load). I can NEVER get them synced, no matter how hard I try. No big deal, it's just an appearance thing, but it would be nice to not have one or two sections off when the others are on.

I think I use 6 or 7 timers. I have tomorrow off and will pull everything down and start putting it up.

Any advice?

I use digital timers. All I have to do Is set the current time, Time on, and time off. There may be a second or so of delay, but it is not a big deal. If you are are using the kind of timers that have the turning dial they can be very difficult to synch.

Yeah, they are the dial timers. I've had them for years and will try to stick with them until they die. (which they do...I lost two at Halloween)

Have someone at each timer and turn them on at the same time. It could work.
