Carol, the card exchange is not usually until the end of Nov. We are doing the Secret Santa gift exchange right now, which closed out Sunday.

I know it is early in 2012 but would like to know if there will be card exchange and secret santa this year and when do each take place? Also are there any other things like them that you guys do?

Well, everyone got me a box of Christmas lights. That was really nice of everyone. Putrid you shouldn't have gotten me two!! LOL

I will leave this up to Just Whisper! She is really great at organizing us! Without her we are a lost herd of elephants!

I would assume there will be another card exchange in 2012, since it is so popular.

Secret Santa usually happens in the Summer around July.

Hi Grimreaper, Carol and everyone else who might be interested. The following is just a rough guideline of when we have certain activities here. Nothing is ever set in stone so be sure to check back about 2 weeks prior to an event and start looking out for it.

Somewhere around March we start a Prop Building Contest. Guidelines will be set as to a theme, spending limit, rules and time limits. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive prizes from our sponsors, which vary each year. To do a search for this thread try keywords "Prop Contest", and then look for the current years thread.

Secret Santa Gift Exchange usually takes place around early July. This is an exchange of a Chistmas related gift usually around $20 in value. The person running the exchange will draw names from those signed up and will assign each person a name for whom they will buy or make a gift. There will be a new thread started announcing the official sign up. In the search box try keywords "Secret Santa 2012" for example.

Christmas Card Exchange. We usually start sign ups for this around the first week of November. To officially sign up you must provide your name and address to the organizer. Then you will receive a list of names of everyone who will participate along with their address. You will be expected to send a card to each person on that list and you will also receive one from each person. When searching for this thread try key words "Card Exchange", perhaps along with the current year.

Last year we started our first Secret Ornament Exchange. I like to think it will also continue as a tradition on here, probably happening sometime in early November. It works very much like the Secret Santa only we exchange ornaments. Good key words would probably be "Secret Ornament Exchange". :)

We always look forward to having new people join in the fun. But we hope you will also join in the rest of the forum, offering to share your great ideas and projects, and taking advantage of all the talented people on here who share their ideas. Joining in the exchanges and contests are MUCH more fun if you make an effort to get to know everyone on here and help us get to know you.
