Okay, not a recipe, but thought I would share my thoughts.
I enjoy experimenting with new foods and drinks, and Jones soda is the latest.
This Hallow's Eve was Candy Corn Soda. To me it tastes like buttercotch. It was creamy and okay. Butterscotch isn't my favorite taste.
Black Licorish pop- yep. Tastes like black licorish, and very good. A little watered down, however perhaps that was because an entire ottle would be too strong of a taste?
Red Licorish pop- To me this tasted more like red cream soda with a bit of licorish added. Now this is not to say I didn't enjoy this. I did. It has it's own charm, however if you want full licorish taste, go with the black licorish pop.
This Christmas Season I got:
Gingerbread Man pop- Not a fan of gingerbread, but had to try this. out of the new tastes I tried, this is my least favorite. Tastes very vaguely like gingerbread, but you really have to use your imagination. I drank about a 3rd of a bottle and gave the rest to my older son, who later gave it back because he claimed it had a strange aftertaste. Not one of out favorites.
Candy Cane pop- A nice mild taste of peppermint, simlar to candy canes. I liked it, but thought the taste could have been stronger. A pleasent desert soda.
Christmas CoCoa pop- Yummy! One of my favorites. All of Jones sodas are smooth, but this was a very smooth pop with a vivid chocolate taste. I don't think it necessarily tastes like cocoa, but it is still a hit with a nice explosion of chocolate.
Next I was trying to find Jones Turkey dinner pop set, but had no luck. I did, however, find Jones Desert pop set and had to buy it to tryit. Besides, a percentage of moola goes towards charity. Everything to feel good about.
Lemon Meringue Pie pop- surprisingly good. The lemon flavor could be worked on, but the taste of meringue is bright and there in the aftertaste as well. A nice body and finish. I liked it.
Apple Pie pop- Let me make it clear that I do NOT like the taste of cooked apples in most any form, but still I had to try this. I was shocked that I liked it! To my palette, this was very similar to a lightly carbonated apple juice with a cinnamon spice. I would have no hesitation to drink it again, and yes- I even liked it.
Blueberry Pie pop- Have it, but not tried it yet.
Cherry pop- Ditto.
I'll post my thoughts on those after I have each one. :)
I'd be interested in other people's thoughts as well. Target is selling these.
