How to hang c9 bulbs.

I have c9 bulbs that I place around my roof. The problem is I can't figure out how to hang them. Should I have them pointed up, poined down , or pointed strait out. I can't choose.

I have always done straight out.I use plastic cable clips from Home depot.That way you can keep the cord straight and it gives a cleaner line.You just nail them in to the eaves.
A clip nailed on each side of the bulb, keeps everything in line.

Any other input. I am having a hard time deciding how to hang them.

one down, one up, one down, one up, etc. :)

Mine always point down, never occurred to me to do it any other way. Now that I think about it, that's how my dad hung them when I was a kid.
