So, I'm starting to get really desperate... my party is in a week exactly and I only have about an hour and a half of music. It's a younger crowd so I'm looking for a mix of classic songs and dance hits. Here is my list of songs I have so far so that you get an idea of where I'm going and what I want. Youtube has all of these songs if you are unfamiliar with any of them!

I perused putrid's thread, but didn't quite find anything that matched what I was looking for, which is why I thought I'd start a new thread :-)

I don't want anything super cheesy or poorly produced or poorly remixed. Anything electronic, dance, pop (NO Hannah Montana, however), remix, rock/punk. I've got all the Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, etc. (i'm just still working on incorporating them into the list)

THANK YOU! I hope you guys can help! (Also, hopefully my list helps some of you guys out!!)

Here's my mix so far (in this specific order)

--Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
--Have a Holly Jolly Christmas - Bing Crosby
--Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Christina Aguilera
--Little Saint Nick - Sugar Ray
--Step Into Christmas - Elton John
--It Doesn't Often Snow at Christmas - Pet Shop Boys
--Christmas Time - Christina Aguilera
--Christmas is all around - Billy Mack
--The Christmas Song - Weezer
--Sleigh Ride - TLC
--Happy Holidays, You B****** - Blink-182
--You're a mean one, mr grinch - Jim Carrey
--Jingle Bell Rock - Aly & AJ
--My Christmas list - Simple Plan
--I Won't be home for Christmas - Blink-182
--The Chaunukah Song - Adam Sandler
--Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses
--Christmas (Baby Please Come home) - U2
--New York City Christmas - Matchbox 20
--Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano
--Santa baby - Kylie Minogue
--My Only Wish (This Year) - Britney Spears
--Christmas (Baby Please Come home) - Cher & Rosie O'Donnell
--All I want for Christmas is you - Mariah Carey
--Christmas Tree - Lady Gaga ft. Space Cowboy
--Last Christmas (Benny Benassi Remix) - Wham

Thanks again :)

Take any one of those artists and do a search for more music by them on Amazon. When you do also look at the listmania entries. You might find more music there that you aren't aware of.
Hope this helps.

One thing you can also do is plan your music in advance. Have more traditional stuff playing when guests arrive. As the party gets going start to play the more dance-able stuff

Hi, WanderingStar

I recommended this on another thread. Don't know if you saw it.

http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/richharris
http://www.rhapsody.com/rich-harris/tracks.html (You can hear full versions of the songs)
or iTunes

It's an indy collection of electronic instrumental arrangements of the classics. Kind of like Mannheim Steamroller.

The First Noel has a Swing feel
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is a rocker, ala Journey
We Three Kings is funky

Now, these are certainly NOT like what's on your list so far, but you did mention electronic...

As a matter of fact, check out http://www.cdbaby.com/Style/holiday . There's a lot of music you've never heard. Plus, it's cool to support independent artists.

Now HERE's one I just heard for the first time in a store today, so I googled it.

"Louisiana Christmas Day" by Aaron Neville

You WILL NOT be able to keep your feet still.

Well thank you so much! These are very helpful!! :)

I also ended up looking up soundtracks to various modern Christmas movies and TV ads - you find some great stuff that way!

Thankfully, my list is slowly coming along! Got about 2.7 hours... hoping to making it to 4 hours by Friday!! Keep the suggestions coming if anyone comes across anything else!
