This year will be my first christmas party. I just want to have something for a small group of people(maybe 10) What do you guys usually have to eat & drink? There will be a few kids there so I was thinking maybe cocoa to drink.

Cocoa, egg nog (both for kids and adult). I think Jones made some special sodas last year that were peppermint and gingerbread.

Here's something nice, simple and festive.
For hot food, a holiday ham is easier than a turkey or a goose. Make it a glazed one, studded with cloves. Serve with crisp oven-roasted new potatoes, drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with salt and rosemary. If ya wanna avoid gravy, crisp the potatoes, I always say.
If the oven is too occupied with the ham, fry the potatoes in a couple of skillets up top with grapeseed oil and a little onion. Grapeseed is the healthiest fat for frying.
For drink, a warm apple cider is hard to beat. Buy some real apple cider and keep it warm in a crockpot.
Dessert, a simple spice cake with cream cheese icing. Most bakeries should offer a spice cake, but if they don't, boxed mixes work just fine, honest.
Serve with coffee and eggnog... so you can have coffee, eggnog or coffee creamed with eggnog.
This way, you get plenty of food without always having to make hot chocolate or carve a bird or keep certain items rotating. You can make the cake in advance, brew the coffee, warm the cider, bake the ham first and the potatoes last and relax when the guests arrive.
