I've come across some really off the wall Christmas music. Thought I'd share all the ones with song samples. So sit back, listen, and wonder. LOL

Some of these links are repeats from the '2009 additions to the collective' thread. I'll start off with something new.

The Governor's Holiday
http://www.amazon.com/Governors-Holiday-Album-Vol-1/dp/B0000AUHS7/ref=sr_1_1208?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1249140446&sr=1-1208

From the collective thread. Really not poking fun at these guys. This is a real Jazz band. Just thought the music was cool and odd enough to include it here.

Belle Flec and the Flectones "Jingle all the way"
http://www.amazon.com/Jingle-All-Bela-Fleck-Flecktones/dp/B001EOQTOC/

I'll be adding more links shortly. Be cool to hear the odd or off the wall Christmas music you have or find.

The Brian Setzer Orchestra has another couple Christmas albums, also not strange but certainly worth noting. Boogie Woogie Christmas and Dig That Crazy Christmas have been my personal favorite Christmas albums for the past few years, so I wanted to bring these up for the uninitiated:
http://www.m.amazon.com/Crazy-Christmas-Brian-Setzer-Orchestra/dp/B000B2YQW0/ref=ntt_mus_ep_wlb_dpt

This one is pretty much a compilation of the Orchestra's previous holiday albums, so it doesn't look like anything is new:
http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Christmas-Collection-Setzer-Orchestra/dp/B001DZDTEK

:snowflake::tree::snowflake::tree::snowflake:

Putrid, I hope you don't mind if I add a couple offerings in the weird/off the wall category. These all too clearly reveal my Halloween obsession, and they certainly aren't for everyone.

Have Yourself A Scary Little Christmas is a twisted album featuring the Cryptkeeper (John Kassir) from Tales From the Crypt. Weird? Absolutely.
http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Crypt-Yourself-Little-Christmas/dp/B000002TUF/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1259523492&sr=1-1

A Merry Monster Christmas is significantly more innocent than the Crypt offering, and is actually a very kind hearted album. Amazon has a listing but no music samples, and CD Baby seems to be the only one with samples (few as they may be). I would recommend turning down your computer's audio since the first track sample starts with a scream.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lenmaxwell

Monster Christmas Mash is a difficult one to find as it is long out of print and it looks as if the latest release was on vinyl. No one seems to have music samples, but if you are interested you should be able to track something down. It has made its rounds in the blog-o-sphere. It remind me of a more sarcastic sibling to A Merry Monster Christmas. I'll at least provide a link with information if you want to look into it: http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsudsii/2/449508305/548/2.html

Ah, somehow I forgot about a couple offerings from the HP Lovecraft Historical Society! They have produced two albums, called "A Very Scary Solstice" and "An Even Scarier Solstice," both of which deal with Lovecraft's stories. The quality of the performances can be variable (there are some good and some not-so-good impersonations of well known Christmas singers), but those who are familiar and fond of Lovecraft's mythos should get a kick out of a good portion of each CD. You can (if you dare:twisted:) listen to some samples on this page:http://www.cthulhulives.org/store/store.lasso?1=product&2=122.

You know, I want to say something like, "There's a fine line between a sincere desire to 'Contribute' (after all, this IS a forum about Christmas music) and blatant 'Promotion', " but the more I think about it, I don't think there IS a line between the two.

As an artist (to some degree), I personally believe "a sincere desire to Contribute" is the Motive, and "Promotion" is the unavoidable Method. But hey, that's just me.

That'll be 2 cents, please.

And by the way, the song/video was nicely done.

I finally got around to purchasing this CD & I don't regret it one bit! I LOVE all things John Waters so I'm a tad biased.

If you listen to the audio clips a warning, Here Comes Fatty Claus has some NSFW language right at the very beginning.

And just yesterday I heard of the existence of John Denver's Please Daddy (Don't Get Drunk This Christmas) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzvQr8fidLo), not having been a big country music fan (apparently Alan Jackson did a remake of it) nor a huge John Denver fan, I'd never heard of it.
