Billman posted this on another forum, and I thought it may help somepeople here as well.

"For those of you who are on the cheap and don't mind a little surgery. You can buy [a transmitter] for under $10 on Ebay and do this:

A lot of people on the "PlanetChristmas" site use that same trick.
Check this out: I bought a transmitter like that one (different brand) and tried to do a similar hack, but couldn't do it. I later found out that even though it was only supposed to transmit about 15 yards, I could hear the signal almost 1/4 of a mile away on the car radio! (SHHH...don't tell the FCC.)

I've seen that hack too. I've been meaning to try it, but first I have to get a Belkin. Is ChristmasDisplays a forum or just a site?
I'm on PC too. (in fact a few others) Is anyone else here???

I'm a member of PC, but hardly ever go. I'm really not into lights as much as props.

I do occasionally hit Carrie's site: Constantly Christmas

I think Christmas Displays is kinda like a Christmas prop builder's you tube.

That's Carrie's site??? Really? I bounce on there too. I'm very into lights - and love things that move - that's why I'm here.

Yepper on Carrie's. She does a good job with her forum, too.

I'm sure you're not the only one who is really into lights. My wife and I won a LOR last year, so who knows? Maybe we will get more into it as we experiment more. She's into the computer stuff.

I'm a member of PC with the same screen name, but I think I've only posted 2 or 3 times in the 3 years I've been a member. Yea, I like the lights, but more interested in animated props too.

I just wrote a whole large post, then realized I would be hijacking this thread...........

Post it anyway. hijacks here occur on a regular basis, but it always swings around again.

I moved it over to the Lights vs. Prop thread.
