Need to reduce DC voltage

No idea where to post this... sooooo.....

I have a 5v 2a wal wart that will power a wiper motor. Problem is the motor spins faster than I would like. I was thinking if I were to reduce the voltage to 3v, say the motor will spin slower. How would I accomplish this task??

this is for the Jck in the Box. I picked up a 25 ohm variable resister and slowed it down a little so the lid doesn't flop so fast. Plan and adj to a good speed, and replace the variable with a fixed resistor. Seperate thread on the Jack / box.
