Step by step instructions posted here. It took me about a month of off-and-on building, but I think it can be done in one weekend if you have a plan and all materials.
I used a lot of scrap wood and left-overs from my Halloween setup, so the cost was not extreme. I estimate that the whole thing would cost under $100 to make.
